RUDRAPUR: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday addressed the Uttarakhand Investment Summit 2025 in Rudrapur. The event marked the celebration of the successful grounding of investment worth ₹1 lakh crore after the Global Investors Summit held in December 2023.
Addressing a large gathering, Home Minister Amit Shah praised the efforts of the Pushkar Singh Dhami-led government and assured full support from the central government in fueling the spiritual and strategic growth of the state. Calling Uttarakhand a Shah emphasized its importance in Prime Minister Narendra Modi ’s vision of a “Developed India by 2047”. He said, “A developed Uttarakhand is essential for a developed India”.
Reflecting on his past conversation with CM Dhami, Shah said the real challenge post-summit was translating MoUs into reality. He expressed satisfaction that Team Dhami has not only begun that process but also created over 81,000 direct and 2.5 lakh indirect jobs.
Shah highlighted Uttarakhand’s successful model of blending development with environmental preservation. He praised the government’s transparent policies, rapid implementation, and balanced focus on tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
Pointing to national progress under Modi’s leadership, Shah noted India's jump from the 11th to the 4th largest global economy, with a projected rise to the 3rd by 2027. He credited key welfare schemes such as free food grains, medical insurance, and housing for lifting 25 crore people out of poverty.
Reiterating the Centre’s commitment, Shah said Uttarakhand has received ₹1.86 lakh crore in central assistance since 2014, four times more than before. He lauded the state’s initiatives like the All-Weather Road, ropeways to Kedarnath and Hemkund Sahib, and policies promoting tourism, startups, and Ayurveda.
