Apple is reportedly working on a more affordable MacBook model, aiming to broaden its appeal with a competitive price point and powerful internal specifications. The rumoured device is expected to feature the A18 Pro chip, the same advanced processor found in the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.

According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo , the new device will be powered not by Apple’s M-series chips, but by the A18 Pro processor—the same chip used in the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro. The budget-friendly MacBook is expected to launch in early 2026.

Apple rumoured to launch affordable MacBook
As per Kuo, the affordable Apple MacBook is said to sport a 13-inch display. In a move reminiscent of its more colourful entry-level iPad lineup, the new MacBook is rumoured to be available in a range of vibrant options, including blue, yellow, pink, and silver.

Mass production for the device is anticipated to commence in either the fourth quarter of this year or the first quarter of 2026, suggesting a potential release sometime in 2026. Speculation also points to a highly competitive starting price for this new MacBook, estimated to be between $699 and $799.
