Jon Richardson and his ex-wife Lucy Beaumont ended their nine-year marriage in April 2024 by sharing a joint Instagram statement with the world. The news surprised many after the pair had starred in their own hit show for over four years where members of the public got to see them together.
Meet the Richardsons saw the pair, who share a daughter, present a fictionalised version of themselves discussing their lives in a mockumentary format. It has now come to light that Jon gave Lucy a staggering £1.6million from their joint fortune of £6 million. The Express previously reported that the payment was made just two months after the end of the couple's marriage. Jon, 41, bought out Lucy's shares in the company where they were both directors and also paid £8,125 in stamp duty for This Guy at Night Limited. The organisation is still valued at a pricey £4 million according to Companies House records.
Despite their separation, Lucy, 40, and Jon, remain co-owners of a detached Yorkshire home with a swimming pool worth £1 million, as well as a luxurious flat in North London valued at the same price, as per The Sun.
In a heartfelt statement, released by the pair last year, they jointly expressed: "After 9 years of marriage, we would like to announce that we have separated. We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways."
They went on to emphasise their commitment to their child's welfare: "As our only priority is managing this difficult transition for our daughter, we would ask that our privacy is respected at this sensitive time to protect her well-being. We will be making no further comment."
The pair met after they were introduced by fellow comedian Roisin Conaty, and it eventually blossomed into a full-blown romance. The former golden couple, exchanged their vows in a romantic ceremony back in April 2015, before their daughter was born the following year.
Lucy, spoke out about the split for the first time when she told Ok! Magazine: 'People might think I should talk about it because we were so public and everyone knew us as a couple, but I won't, and not because there's any animosity.
'We both agreed that while it might be weird for other people not hearing anything about it, we wouldn't talk about anything to do with the marriage or each other.'
'I don't feel any different really, just a bit angrier and not willing to take any s**t from anyone.'
