Strictly star Chris Robshawsays he is in trouble with his wife - over his spray-tans causing havoc with the laundry at home. The star is married to wife, singerCamilla Kerslake, 37, and sons Wilding, four, and Hunter, one.
“I’m becoming a bit of a spray tan addict,” he says. “The tan is driving my wife crazy, as I’ve doubled our wash load.” He also says he gets the same buzz from dancing as he did playing for England. The 39-year-old captained the national rugby union side for nearly four years and played 66 internationals in all.
But he says hitting the dancefloor on a Saturday night gives him the same thrill as wearing the Red Rose on his chest. “I’ve got the same feeling when I wear sequins as I did wearing an England shirt,” he admits.
“I never thought I would say that, but it’s true. The adrenaline I feel before going out on the dancefloor is the ultimate dopamine hit. It’s the same sort of feeling I used to get before a game.”
Chris, who is paired with professional partner Nadiya Bychkova, also admits judge Craig Revel Horwood is not the only one who hasn’t been impressed with his dance moves.“Our dog Rico is not a Strictly fan…him and Craig have common ground, they both hate my dancing,” he admits. “Rico is blind and deaf and is used to life at home pre-Strictly Come Dancing.

“I keep waltzing around the front room to practice and he’s not a fan of my dancing because we keep bumping into each other. He’s used to his routine, not to mention the floor being his to own, and it’s causing some issues. He leaves the room when the kids are watching Strictly on a Saturday night, and if that isn’t a sign he hates my dancing, I don’t know what is!”
Chris and Nadiya scored second from bottom from the judges last week, with 14, but won the public vote to stay in. The former Harlequins flanker, from Redhill in Surrey, says his eldest son in particular is rooting for him.
“Wilding has told me if I make it through to next week I have to dye my hair,” he says. “He wants to choose what colour I’ll be dyeing it. And his favourite colour is blue. The dance scores have brought out my competitive side. I really don’t want to leave, I’m loving it. I’d be so sad to go.”
Ukrainian Nadiya, 36, said: “Chris needs a few more weeks, and then he will be ready to perform the way I think he can.”
