FIRE EYES (4.10, nap) can complete a quick-fire double in the RCA Groundstaff Awards Handicap at Yarmouth today.

The seven-year-old daughter of Toronado has been on a roll this term finishing runner-up on three successive runs, before scoring her first win for nearly four years in a handicap over the same mile trip at Pontefract nine days ago.

The mare took control of the race under Sean Kirrane a furlong out to quicken clear by a length and a half at the winning post.

Ed Dunlop’s four-year-old has shown improvement in recent starts, culminating in a six-length demolition job under Saffie Osborne at Brighton eight days ago over today's trip of a mile and a quarter.

The son of Profitable finished six lengths to the good, and while he has 5lb extra today with Billy Loughnane on board, the margin of that latest success could have been a lot more.
