Harry Potter is returning but fans should prepare themselves as Lord Voldemort might actually be She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named in the reboot.
Life-long Harry Potter fans still obsess over everything to do with the wizarding world years after the film franchise came to an end and now a reboot drama is on the way.
Expected to premiere sometime in 2027, the upcoming Harry Potter drama will be a faithful adaptation of JK Rowling’s seven books, with each series focussing on a novel.

Not only can fans expect seven seasons of the reboot but that each will give even greater detail, making the show an even closer adaptation of Rowling’s books than the films.
But it has since been reported that there could be a chance that Lord Voldemort is going to look very different in comparison to both the novels and the films.

It has been reported that Warner Bros is auditioning both men and women for the role of the terrifying Lord Voldemort, a part that was originally brought to life by actor Ralph Fiennes.
So it could very well be that Lord Voldemort may be a woman in the HBO reboot, although who will become the Dark Lord - or lady - hasn’t yet been disclosed.
Season One, which is an adaptation of The Philosopher’s Stone, will introduce whoever plays Lord Voldemort from the very beginning. This is going to be through flashback’s from the night Harry’s parents died and Voldemort’s possession of Professor Quirrell.
There had previously been speculation that Peaky Blinders icon Cillian Murphy could have portrayed He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named.
And Voldemort himself Ralph Fiennes approved the casting, commenting on Watch What Happens Live that Murphy is a “fantastic actor”. He added: “That’s a wonderful suggestion. I would be all in favour of Cillian.”
Sadly, it doesn’t look like Murphy is going to embody the Dark Lord as he said on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast: “I don’t know anything about that.
“I mean, also, it’s just really hard to follow anything Ralph Fiennes does.
“The man is an absolute acting legend. So, good luck to whoever is going to fill those shoes.”
The Harry Potter drama will premiere sometime in 2027 on HBO.
