Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday made serious allegations of electoral fraud in Haryana, claiming that one in eight voters on the state’s electoral list are fake.
According to Gandhi, around 25 lakh votes were manipulated, including 5.21 lakh duplicate voters, 93,174 invalid voters, and 19.26 lakh bulk voters.
At a press conference, Gandhi pointed out a particularly shocking case in which the photograph of a Brazilian model was allegedly used to cast 22 votes across ten different booths in Haryana.
Rahul Gandhi said, "Who is this lady? What is her name? Where does she come from? But she votes 22 times in Haryana, at 10 different booths, and has multiple names: Seema, Sweety, Saraswati, Rashmi, Vilma... But turns out she is actually a Brazilian model."
Gandhi urged young people, especially Gen Z, to pay attention. “This is about your future. I am questioning the Election Commission and the democratic process in India with 100% proof. We are convinced that a plan was in motion to convert a Congress landslide victory into a loss. Notice the smile on CM Nayab Saini’s face and the ‘vyavastha’ he is talking about, just two days after the election, when everyone said Congress was sweeping the polls.”
He also pointed out irregularities with postal votes, stating, “For the first time in Haryana’s electoral history, postal votes differed from the actual voting. When I first saw this, I struggled to believe it. I instructed my team to cross-check multiple times.”
Gandhi added, “We have what we call the ‘H’ Files, which show how an entire state has been stolen. This is not happening in individual constituencies alone, but at the state and national levels. Complaints from our candidates in Haryana showed that something was wrong. Predictions were completely off. We have seen similar issues in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Maharashtra, but we decided to examine Haryana closely.”
He also alleged extreme cases of fraud, saying, “One person had 223 votes across two booths with the same photograph. There are 1.24 lakh voters with fake photos in the electoral list. The Election Commission has software to remove duplicate voters but does not use it. Thousands of people associated with the BJP voted in both Haryana and Uttar Pradesh.”
He further alleged that the Prime Minister and the Election Commission had adopted a systematic method to “undermine the Constitution and Indian democracy.”
Gandhi also said, “We are absolutely certain that similar data will emerge in Bihar, where votes are reportedly being deleted.”
