Pawan Kalyan's They Call Him OG (also known as OG) hit the theatres on Thursday (September 25) and created havoc at the box office with a massive opening. The buzz around the film was huge, and fans across the country celebrated the release with great enthusiasm. However, one such celebration in Bengaluru has now landed a group of fans in legal trouble.
FIR filed against Pawan Kalyan fans
According to PTI report, an FIR has been registered against members of the Bangalore Pawan Kalyan Fans Association for organising an unauthorised event ahead of the film’s release. As per the police, the group had planned a stage event and celebrations outside Sandhya Theatre in the Madiwala area of the city. The setup included a DJ system and stage but was reportedly held without obtaining prior permission from the authorities.
Acting on a tip-off, the police reached the spot on Wednesday and seized the sound equipment. They also instructed the organisers to dismantle the stage immediately to avoid any disruption or public inconvenience. The situation turned briefly tense when members of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) objected to the celebration. However, no violence or clashes were reported.
After consulting with a local court, the Madivala Police proceeded to file an FIR against the organisers. The event was part of fan-led promotional activities for They Call Him OG, one of the most awaited Telugu films of the year, starring actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan.
