Chelsea £38.5m outcast's transfer blocked by Nicolas Jackson move as agent hits out

Nicolas Jackson's completed loan move to Bayern Munich prevented Chelsea outcast Axel Disasi from leaving Stamford Bridge - due to a sometimes forgotten rule.

Disasi arrived from Monaco in the summer of 2023 as part of a £38.5million deal, but he does not appear to be in Enzo Maresca's plans moving forward. In the second half of last season,the centre back was loaned to Aston Villa, where he endured a mixed spell under ex-Arsenal manager Unai Emery.

Despite the long-term injury to Levi Colwill,Disasi is still stuck behind Trevoh Chalobah, Tosin Adarabioyo, Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana and Josh Acheampong in the Stamford Bridge pecking order. An exit seemed inevitable for the 27-year-old, with former club Monaco reportedly willing to bring him back.

Unfortunately for Disasi, Jackson's loan move to the reigning Bundesliga champions, which has banked the west Londoners an extra £14.3m with obligation to buy for £56.2m, if he makes a certain number of appearances, put a halt to his hopes of an exit.

The Senegalese forward's move to Bavaria was the final international loan transfer the Blues could allow without breaking FIFA rules. Before the 2024/25 campaign, football's global governing body prohibited clubs from loaning more than six players abroad.

Jackson's exit was the final loan move Chelsea could sanction, meaning Disasi was confined to Stamford Bridge. The defender could still depart as clubs from Saudi Arabia and Turkey have reportedly been eying his services.

The Saudi transfer window is open until September 23, while the Turkish market slams shut on September 12. Besiktas are understood to be eying a move for Disasi, while Saudi Pro League side Neom have also previously been linked.

Meanwhile, Disasi is on the fringes looking inwards at Stamford Bridge. Jackson would have been doing the same thing if he remained at the club.

The Senegal international's time in west London appeared to be over until honorary Bayern president Uli Hoeness told Sport1, "There will definitely not be a permanent contract" for Jackson unless he, "plays 40 games from the start."

These comments prompted an angry reaction from Jackson's agent Diomansy Kamara, who took to Instagram and wrote: "Many speak, but few tell the truth. That's not the topic today. Our only priority is Senegal's decisive match for World Cup qualification.

"This is a crucial moment for the entire nation. Our journey, our ethics, and our way of working are well known - first as footballers and now as advisors to African players.

"It's time for a united front. The rest will be dealt with later, at the appropriate time. End of story."

Jackson came off the bench in Senegal's 2-0 victory over Sudan in their African World Cup qualification clash.
